Earth Day 50th Anniversary Celebration

We may have postponed our Earth Day event for April 18th, but we would like to offer you resources to celebrate this day from home. See below, opportunities for interaction, brought to you by local and global organizations.

The Earth Day Network is hosting Earth Day Live, a three-day digital mobilization to stop the climate emergency. Join together with partners from around the world, on April 22-24 to watch, discuss and participate in livestreams featuring stories, performances and opportunities for digital collective action.

UF/IFAS Extension is celebrating “Virtual Earth Week” next week, with online activities scheduled for Monday-Friday. Click here to learn more:

The Florida Museum of Natural History has organized various virtual events and resources for the 22nd, with topics like “Freshwater Fishes of Florida” and “Florida Wildflowers & Butterflies”

NASA has created videos, online games and mobile apps, social media events, and even Lego activities especially for #EarthDayAtHome.

Celebrate safely outside– When you visit the Florida Botanical Gardens, take advantage of our brochures and activities to enhance your experience!

One plant, earth day 2020, earth rise

Celebrate Earth Day's 50th Anniversary, as well as the

20th Anniversary of the Florida Botanical Gardens!

We encourage everyone, young and old to take the initiative on the Earth Day message to
“think globally and act locally” as environmental stewards of planet Earth.

Saturday, April 18th, 2020, from 10am-2pm.
Join us for Teach-Ins in the auditorium throughout the morning, on conservation and pollination.

Browse booths from local nonprofit organizations, focused on sustainability, environmental management, and more.

Enjoy games and activities for all ages, centered around Project Wild curriculum for environmental education.

Water-Wise Workshop in the Visitor Center, brought to you by the UF/IFAS Extension Services.

Mid-day Tree Planting Ceremony, on behalf of the Florida Botanical Gardens and Parks and Conservation Resources.

This event is free to the public, but donations will be accepted at the gates.

St. Pete Concessions will be available for purchase.
