Understanding Shutter in Photography

$30 per student, $5 discount for FLBG members

Ready to learn how to freeze action or capture images after sunset?
This workshop is for DSLR, mirrorless, and film photographers, or anyone with a camera that allows shutter speed adjustments. If you are familiar with the basics, this
class will allow you to move beyond auto or scene modes for greater creative control.
First, you’ll enjoy a presentation that addresses common photography questions, followed by an interactive Q&A session. Participants will then apply their newly acquired
skills through hands-on activities in the gardens, with guidance and support from experienced instructors.
During the 90-minute session, you will gain a deeper understanding of how shutter speeds function and the importance of the “exposure triangle.” You will learn how to
adjust your shutter speed, its effects on your images, and suggested settings for different scenarios. The class also covers in-camera metering patterns and how to override defaults, along with insights into ISO choices and the use of Exposure Compensation.
