Strategic Plan 2026-2029

Introduction to the Foundation

The Florida Botanical Gardens Foundation dates back to the 1990s when a “friends group” came together to create a free public botanical garden in Pinellas County. As we celebrate our 25th Anniversary,
we are thinking of those visionaries, and how we can best honor their commitment while serving our visitors with a robust vision for the future.

We have a strong partner in the Pinellas County Parks and Conservation Resources Department and together we work to make the Florida Botanical Gardens a community garden known for beautiful scenery and outstanding educational and engagement opportunities.

Our Board of Directors hold an unyielding commitment to the preservation and maintenance of the Gardens so that all can enjoy them. We contribute funds toward basic garden maintenance, the enhancement of special features and infrastructure.

We also host fun outdoor events that draw locals and visitors alike. Our volunteers are enthusiastic advocates and are committed to making sure visitors enjoy a great experience during their visit.
Why do we do it? These Gardens inspire each of our lives and we hear stories daily about how they bring profound joy and well-being to all who visit.

Mission Statement:

To support The Florida Botanical Gardens as a natural oasis that engages and inspires through education, enjoyment and well-being.
